Mohegan Proudly Accepts Delivery Of Engine 252

On Thurs. night 11/11/10, during the Lake Mohegan Fire District's monthly Board of Fire Commissioners meeting, the fire district accepted delivery of the new Engine 252. The new apparatus will be an addition to the current fleet and will be responding out of Headquarters, once placed in service. The rig will be equipped with additional equipment, plus all the members will be trained in this new apparatus, over the next few weeks. The Apparatus Committee was formed in November, 2008 with those members reviewing numerous ideas and concepts for such a state-of-the-art apparatus. The apparatus then went out to bid in November, 2009, with KME being awarded the bid. Mohegan then signed contract with KME in January, 2010. The final inspection was held on Fri. 11/5/10 at the KME Fire Apparatus Headquarters in Nesquehoning, Pa. All photos are courtesy of Apparatus Committee member Lt. Chris Gravius.

-2011 KME Rescue-Engine
-2009 Cummins Diesal Motor
-8 man cab
-1500 GPM Hale Single Stage Pump
-500 galllon tank
-24" deep compartments on all sides
-6 "coffin" compartment
-1400 ft of 5" supply hose
-Cab mounted Command light tower
-Front bumper preconnected Hurst Combi tool and Hurst Cutters
-Rear compartment preconnected Hurst Spreaders and Air Line (for air chisel and airbags)
-4 recievers (each side of rig) for 9,000 lbs portable winch
-Two 200 ft electric reels mounted in front coffin compartments with access through lower compartment
