On Fri. 10/8/10, the Lake Mohegan Fire District's Apparatus Committee once again traveled to the KME Fire Apparatus Headquarters in Nesquehoning, Pa for an inpection our new Rescue-Style Engine that is currently in production. After nearly 2 years of researching and developing this new Engine, that fits the needs of this dept, this Engine is should be completed within the next month. The bid was won by KME in November, 2009. The committee on this warm Friday sat down with representatives from KME and went over all the current construction plans and designs of the new Engine and made some minimal adjustmants to the specs. Committee members and KME engineers/architects also sought where to mount various equipment on Engine 252, such as radios and hand tools and also designed the graphics and rig markings. Members also took a tour of Plant #4, which is where the front bumper was completed and awaits installation on Engine 252 this week. Members inspected the front bumper due to the Hurst tools being mounted on it and gave KME its approval. The new Engine 252 will be delivered sometime in November, 2010.
