I would like to thank the ex-captains committee, officers, and members of the MVFA Vac for the presentation to me of the captains ring at the Decembeer 6th Vac meeting. It was a great honor for me to receive this recognition after serving 35 active years on the MVFA ambulances, including being ambulance committee chairman and the first rescue squad captain.

as a former resident of mohegan lake,growing up there, i was always proud of the
fire dept. especially since they saved my house from a stove fire back in the sixties. I became a volunteer firefighter in later years and now an associate with
palm coast volunteer fire/rescue.
I'm still proud of the work you do.

Had contact with Deputy Chief Barry today and he gave the MLFD's e-mail address and I did review the great pictures. Back when, we did not have this kind of vehicle (pictures) to review after fires and emergency calls. agree

This is a pretty nice web site...some nice pictures.

My grandfather Lewis Allport lived at Mohegan between 1924 and 1946, when he died. He is buried at Shrub Oak and his grave is still marked with flags and Firefighter emblems and signs. His wife Emma died in 1951.
Are there any lists showing his association with the Mohegan Volunteer brigade? His house was the present No.5 Helena Avenue. I think it had a different address then!
