On Fri. 10/27/06 at 4:37pm, firefighters were summoned to the intersection of Walnut Rd and Cedar Rd in the Lake Peekskill section of Cortlandt for a reported person stuck in a tree. Upon arrival, a man was found to be clinging to a cat while standing on branches approximately 35 feet from the ground. Due to the location of the man, a 35' ground ladder was extended to reach the subject. As it turns out, the man went up the tree to rescue his neighbor's cat, but in turn could not get down once he reached the cat. Ironically after the cat was down from the tree, the cat in turn started too reclimb the tree. The man was safely removed from the tree without any injuries.
