The Holiday Blood Drive far exceeded my expectations thanks to a tremendous response by the members, both volunteer and paid, family, friends, and the community. Forty nine pints of blood were donated and there were ten deferrals. Kudos to the New York Blood Center for their hard work and determination. Special thanks also goes out to the businesses from our community that graciously and without hesitation donated items to be raffled off. These included RescueStuff, Charlie Brown's Steak House, La Valetta's Pizzeria, Best Buy, Applebees, Villa Barone, and Brodies Pub. We had a total of 16 raffle winners. Everyone has been contacted via phone and were very excited to have won. The membership really came through and what could have easily been a very hectic and chaotic day went off without a hitch. Since we were so successful, I am currently planning to have the next Blood Drive around the 4th of July. Once again, there are entirely too many names to mention here and I do not wany to leave anyone out. So once again, thanks to all for your hard work during the Holiday Blood Drive. It could not have been done without you.
