On Fri. Morning 6/27/08 at 2:48am, Mohegan Fire and EMS were dispatched to Lexington Ave in the area of Townsend Rd for a reported motor vehicle accident rollover into the woods with extrication. Upon arrival of units, 1 vehicle was found to have rolled over onto its roof in the woods adjacent to 3100 Lexington Ave (Jim Waters Corporation), with the driver ejected and the passenger pinned inside the heavily damaged vehicle. Members immediately put 2 Hurst "Jaws of Life" to work to remove the passenger door from the vehicle to access the passenger. During this extrication, other members treated the driver. The passenger was removed and transported by 69B2 to Hudson Valley Hospital. During the investigation, it was found that the vehicle struck a fire hydrant approximately 200' away and sheared it out of the ground. It also was determined that the vehicle rolled over numerous times before coming to a rest in the woods. Parts of the vehicle, including the wheels and trunk, were found to be torn from the vehicle and landed in various locations around the vehicle and in the woods. Members cleared once the vehicle was removed from the scene.
