Bravest Make Quick Work At Chimney Fire

At 11:16am on Sun. 2/17, Mohegan Firefighters were alerted by 60 Control of a possible chimney fire at 1248 Winding Court in the Yorktown section of the District. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active chimney fire with extension into the attic area of the residence. Firefighters quickly stretched two 1 3/4 inch hoselines to extinguish the fire. Firefighters had to cut a small hole in the roof and open up the eaves of the residence to gain access to the fire. Due to the fast work of the firefighters on the scene the house was saved from significant damage.
