By Firefighter Justin Strassfield
June 18, 2007

At 1901 hours, on Monday the 18th of June, Mohegan responded to its second motor vehicle accident of the day. The entrance to the BJs/Staples parking lot quickly became very crowded with civilian interest and also caused traffic to back up both eastbound and westbound on Rt. 202. The inordinate amount of onlookers was mainly because of a car show taking place in the lot. Upon arrival it was found that the motorcyclist was injured, due to the impact with the Chevrolet Suburban, and was promptly transported with a paramedic aboard to Hudson Valley Hospital Center in 69-B1. Yorktown Police Department officers took control of the traffic situation along with Mohegan's own Fire Police to restore order to the now clogged intersection. Firefighters raised the motrocycle from the pavement to clean the fluids it had spilled with the use of , and checked the SUV to ensure that it would not slide back out into the road. Following the transport of the patient, Yorktown Auto Body Works removed both vehices from the roadway, opening it back up to traffic at around 1945.
