FAS-Team Responds During Snowstorm

Early this morning Tues 12/3/19 at approximately 1:05am, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team was dispatched to a structure fire on Ringgold St in the City of Peekskill Firefighters were on scene battling heavy fire on the 1st, 2nd, and attic floors. Conditions deteriorated due to the fire being wind driven and eventually Peekskill Firefighters knocked down the heavy fire from the exterior using multiple hoselines and the master stream from Peekskill FD Tower Ladder 45. The fire was knocked down and firefighters re-entered to fully extinguish the fire. Peekskill FD was also assisted on scene by Buchanan FD, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Montrose FD, Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Cortlandt Regional Paramedics, and City of Peekskill Police Department. During this fire, members encountered snow, cold, and windy weather. Mohegan FD cleated the scene by 4:15am. Mohegan FD units on scene were Car 2262, 226-40, 226-10, and Engine 256 with a total FAST crew of 9 firefighters.
