2nd FAS-Team Response in 24 Hours

On Friday 10/4/19 at approximately 6:50pm, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team was dispatched at a confirmed structure fire on Pine St in the City of Peekskill. This was the 2nd FAS-Team response to Peekskill in less than 24 hours. Peekskill FD was on scene of this fire with heavy fire showing from the 2nd floor and 3rd floor attic. Upon arrival, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team, with a total crew of 8 members, staged in the front of the residence and also set up ground ladders. The fire was knocked down quickly and firefighters performed extensive overhaul. Also assisting Peekskill FD were U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Montrose FD, Buchanan FD, Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services Battalion 10 and Cause and Origin Team Zone 4. The Montrose FD and Continental Village FD stood by and covered the City of Peekskill, while Croton-on-Hudson FD covered the Montrose VA facility. Mohegan FD units on scene were Car 2262, 226-40, 2266, and Engine 256. Mohegan FD cleared the scene by 8:30pm. Photos are courtesy of Kempter’s Fire Wire and Car 2262.
