Vehicle Crashes Off Taconic Pkwy

At 7:52am on Monday morning 2/13/17, Mohegan FD and EMS were requested to respond to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on the Taconic State Parkway northbound in the area of Exit 17B (Bear Mtn Pkwy Extension) in Yorktown. Upon arrival of units, a one vehicle accident was found with the car down an embankment and into trees and a snowbank. The driver was treated by Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps 69B2 and transport to a local hospital was refused by the driver (RMA). Mohegan FD returned to service, while New York State Police remained on scene awaiting the tow truck. Units on scene were Mohegan FD Car 2264/Utility 80, Engine 253, Engine 258, and Rescue 32. The Yorktown Paramedics and Yorktown EMS (highway dual response) were cancelled enroute. All Mohegan units cleared the scene by 8:30am. This call was dispatched just as units were clearing a structure fire in Putnam Valley.
