On Wednesday 9/14/16 at 5:05pm, Mohegan Fire and EMS units and Cotlandt Paramedics were dispatched to a residence on Maple Ave in Cortlandt for a reported tree down on a residence (called in by a passerby). Upon arrival, units confirmed a large tree down on top of an unoccupied residence, with the house electrical wires involved and partially pulled from the side of the house. Con Edison Electric was requested to cut the power to the house. Members also gained entry into the residence through an open back window to conduct a search of the residence for potential victims and structural damage. Searches proved nobody was home, but slight structural damage was found on the 2nd floor. Incoming EMS units were quickly cancelled due to no patients. The Town of Cortlandt Code Enforcement was also requested to the scene. The town's Code Enforcement and Building Dept would conduct followup at a later date, due to their unavailability to respond. The homeowner also returned home and would await Con Edison Electric due to electrical hazard and numerous Con Edison units committed to other electrical emergencies in the area due to the thunderstorm. All units cleared by 6:30pm.

Units on the assignment were:
Mohegan FD: Car 2264, DC40, Engine 254, Engine 258, Ladder 35, Rescue 32, Utility 50/Fire-Police Unit
