On Wednesday evening 7/27/16, Mohegan FD trained at the old Mohegan Beer and Soda located on Rt 6 adjacent to the Cortlandt Town Center. This property was acquired through the generosity of the previous owners of this establishment and the Town of Cortlandt. Tonight's topics included hoseline advancement, search and rescue, and roof operations with the building filled with smoke from our smoke machine. This smoke simulated a structure fire, which caught the eyes of passing motorists. With approximately 30 members in attendance, Mohegan Firefighters broke into numerous hose teams, search teams (using hand tools and thermal imaging cameras to locate our 2 mannequins), and roof teams (carrying tools and saws to roof) and went through many evolutions and scenarios. Our members will be continuing our training on this site until the building is demolished. Units at tonight's training were 2261, 2262, 2263, 2264, 2266, 2267, 2269, Engine 252, Engine 255, Engine 258, Ladder 10, Ladder 35, Utility 18, and Utility 80. Photos courtesy of Capt Gravius.
