At 12:26pm on Thurs 4/21/16, Mohegan FD's FAS-Team was requested mutual aid to Putnam Valley (Putnam County) for a structure fire on Columbus Ave in northern Putnam Valley.. Mohegan FD Car 2264/Utility 80, 2266, and Engine 255 with a total FAST crew of 5 members responded within minutes of dispatch. Upon arrival of our FAS-Team, the team set up and was presented with many factors. Factors included a live power line down and arching in from of the residence, in addition to this residential structure that was heavily involved in fire. Due to the heavy volume of fire, exposure issues included a large brush fire that was quickly spreading, along with a neighbor's residence siding melted. Once the fire was knocked down, Mohegan Firefighters went to work to assist in overhaul operations. All Mohegan units cleared by 3pm. Also assisting on scene were Continental Village FD, Mahopac Falls FD, Garrison FD, and Kent FD EMS. Photos are courtesy of Putnam Valley FD.
