On Wed. 9/2/15,Mohegan FD Car 2263, 2264, 2266, and Engine 257 traveled north to the Putnam County Fire Training Center with the Mahopac Falls FD. This training started with Mahopac Falls FD members teaching and reviewing Mohegan FD members on drafting operations from a dry hydrant that was on site. Once this was completed, Mohegan FD members taught and let Mahopac Falls FD review pressurized hydrant operations. Once this review was complete, the conclusion of the night included both departments teaming up together and operating hoselines to attack the vehicle fire simulator, followed by hoseline advancement on propane tank fires. The propane tank fire simulator was a coordinated effort as the two hoseline teams comprised of members from both departments working together to push the fire away from the valve, as the officer in charge of the teams simulated turning off the gas valve. This was a great night of training with our mutual aid department and we thank Mohegan FD Capt Gravius and Mahopac Falls FD Capt Nistico for setting up this drill. Thanks again to Mahopac Falls FD for inviting us up to their county's training center!
