Parkway Accident Slows Traffic

On Saturday 4/18/15 at 6:26pm, Mohegan Fire and EMS, Yorktown Medics, along with Yorktown EMS under preplanned mutual aid responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on the Taconic State Pkwy northbound at mile marker 19.3, just south of Rt. 132 in Yorktown. Upon arrival of units, a 1 car MVA was found with only 1 injury. Due to this being a parkway with high speed limits, Engine 254 was committed to the scene, while Engine 258 and 2264/Utility 80 were utilized for traffic control to block 2 lanes of the highway prior to the accident scene. Mohegan EMS 69B2 transported the patient to Hudson Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while firefighters mitigated fluids in the roadway, and assisted with traffic control. All Mohegan Fire units cleared the scene by 7:30pm. Car 2261, 2264/Utility 80, 2266, 22610, Engine 254, Engine 258, 69B2, Yorktown 34Medic1, and New York State Police all operated on this scene.
