On Wed night 3/11/15 at 7pm, Mohegan FD members trained at the Furnace Woods Station (Station# 3) with Con Edison on Natural Gas Emergencies. This training was hosted by James Tipa, Con Edison Field Operations Planner Gas Emergency Response Center. Con Edison provided gas hazard recognition training to prepare us for any natural gas emergencies that we might have to respond to in our district. Some of the topics included an understanding of the 2 high hazard interface structures which are located in our district, as well as understanding the difference between our FD gas meters measuring in LEL vesus Con Edison's meters which measure the percentage of gas. Approximately 25 members participated in this training.
