On Monday night 2/16/15 at 11:03pm, Mohegan FD's FAS-Team was requested mutual aid to Putnam Valley FD (Putnam County) for a heavily involved structure fire on Tanglewylde Rd in the Lake Peekskill section. Car 2265, 22610, DC40, and Engine 255 with a total crew of 8 FAS-Team members responded and stood by on scene. The FAS-Team was broken into 2 teams to cover both the front and the rear of the residence, as Putnam Valley FD operated. Mohegan FD remained on scene until released by Putnam Valley FD at approximately 1:45am. Mohegan VAC 69B3 also was requested to the scene at approximately 11:30pm for fire scene standby and did arrive and assist Putnam Valley VAC on scene. 69B3 did transported one of the homeowners to Hudson Valley Hospital for smoke inhalation. At 3:30am during extreme cold temoperatures and snow, Mohegan FD's FAS-Team was again dispatched to this Tanglewylde Rd fire scene in Putnam Valley for what was now a fully involved structure fire. Putnam Valley FD cleared the scene but for unknown reasons, the house became engulfed in flames again. Mohegan FD Car 2265 and Engine 255/FAS-Team responded and upon arrival was immediately put to work to assist in extinguishing this fully involved structure fire that already collapsed. The fire was an exterior attack only and Mohegan FD was also asked to have all available manpower report to the scene to assist. Mohegan FD Engine 255 supplied water to Continental Village FD Engine 231, which was also supplied by Putnam Valley FD Tanker 24–4 –2. Mohegan members operated hose lines with Continental Village FD on the rear side, while Putnam Valley FD operated on the front side. Mohegan members remained on scene and assisted rolling up all the frozen hose. All Mohegan units cleared the scene at 6:30am. Also assisting Putnam Valley FD on scene the second time was Mahopac Falls FD. Photos courtesy of Putnam Valley FD.
