Early Snowstorm Keeps Bravest Busy

On Wed. 11/26/14, snow began in the morning hours and quickly began to stick to the roadways. With a Winter Storm warning issued from this unexpected accumulation of the snowfall, Mohegan FD began to receive fire/rescue calls. Mohegan FD responded to the following calls throughout the day and evening while the snow fell. Numerous EMS calls were also handled by Mohegan EMS throughout the snowstorm.

Fire/Rescue Calls:

1) 12:49pm Motor Vehicle Accident/Assist Peekskill FD with road closure of Bear Mtn State Pkwy at Rt. 6. Handled by 2265/U80, E252, and E257

2) 1:24pm Motor Vehicle Accident- car vs telephone pole on Westbrook Dr with localized power outage. Handled by 2265/U80, E257

3) 2:11pm Wires Down on Rt. 202 and Locust Ave. Handled by 2265/U80, E257, E258

4) 4:33pm Commercial Fire Alarm on Croton Ave. Handled by 2265/U80, E252, E258, L35

5) 10:54pm FAS-Team mutual aid to Peekskill for working structure fire on Main St. Handled by 2265, 22610, 22640, E255/FAS-Team
