On Friday morning 10/24/14 at 2:51am, Mohegan FD's FAS-Team was requested to respond to a working commercial structure fire at 160 Rt. 6 in Mahopac (Putnam County). Mahopac FD was operating, with heavy fire showing, at The Feed Barn store within the Mahopac Village Shopping Centre. Engine 255/FAS-Team responded and set up in front of the shopping center. Due to the size of the strip mall and stores involved, Mahopac FD also requested Ladder 35 to the scene to set up in front with manpower to assist in ventilation and roof operations. Mohegan FD personnel assisted on scene in a multitude of roles including FAS-Team, ventilation, roof operations, but also assisted in hose packing in the end. Mohegan FD was released from the scene at approximately 7:30am, after the fire was extinguished. Other departments assisting Mahopac FD on scene were Somers FD (Engine and Tower Ladder), Mahopac Falls FD (Rescue and Tanker), Putnam Valley FD (Rescue/FAS-Team), Carmel FD (Engine), Yorktown FD (Tanker), Brewster FD (Large Diameter Hose Reel Truck), Transcare Medics, Putnam County Fire-Police unit, Carmel PD, Putnam County Sheriffs. During the fire, the Croton Falls FD and Katonah FD relocated to Mahopac FD and Somers FD accordingly.
