On Mon. 8/25/14, Mohegan FAS-Team members gathered at the Furnace Woods Station (Sta. 3) for a FAS-Team drill. This drill's topic was Firefighter Removal from a second floor window using a 2:1 rope system. FAS-Team members reviewed FF packaging by turning the "down firefighter's" air pack and harness into a harness designed for lower a downed firefighter. Once this was reviewed, firefighters practiced packaging a down firefighter on the 2nd floor of our training tower, and attaching the 2:1 rope to the down firefighter. after this firefighters removed the "down firefighter' to the window and prepared for removal. Once at the window, the 2:1 system and teamwork was used to bring the firefighter out the window and lower the firefighter to the ground. Every firefighter that attended rotated through all the positions, including being the "down firefighter". Photos are courtesy of Asst. Chief Tartaglia.
