On Sun. 10/30/2011 at 7:27pm, Mohegan units were dispatched to Arch Dr in Mohegan Lake for a reported structure fire. Car 2264 arrived first and confirmed a working structure fire with fire showing from an upstairs window. The first alarm was transmitted bringing Yorktown FD's Rescue 16/FAS-Team, Mahopac Falls FD's Rescue 19-6-1/Cascade, Mohegan VAC 69B1, and Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services: Battalion 17 and Cause & Origin Team all to the scene. Under the command of Car 2263, Mohegan members quickly stretched 2 hoselines and found heavy fire in an upstairs den/office. Members aggressively attacked the fire and held the fire to this room. Other members gained access to the roof in case roof ventilation would be needed. Members also checked for further fire extension, but none was found. Ladder 35 was operating in front of the residence while Engine 252 grabbed a hydrant and supplied Ladder 35 with water, and Engine 257 stoodby a second hydrant. With this, Ladder 10 and Engine 258 relocated and stoodby at Headquarters for any other alarms, which there were still storm-related calls continuing. Yorktown and Mahopac Falls units were quickly released from Arch Dr due to the fire under control. At 8:02pm, while Mohegan units were still operating on Arch Dr, Mohegan was dispatched to Dimond Ave in Cortandt for an unknown type fire. Ladder 10, Engine 257, and Engine 258 were assigned to this fire. Within moments of dispatch, 60 Control dispatchers advised units that they received a 2nd call advising of a house fire on Dimond Ave. Car 2263 then requested one Ladder and one Engine to be placed on standby at Mohegan FD Headquarters on Rt. 6. Montrose FD Engine 121 and Yorktown FD Ladder 51 were dispatched for standby. Due to call volume in the Yorktown's district, Croton FD Tower 44 was assigned to the standby instead. Mohegan units arrived on Dimond Ave and found heavy fire showing and the first alarm was transmitted. This brought Peekskill FD Rescue 134/FAS-Team, and Buchanan FD Utility 12/Cascade to that scene. Mohegan VAC 69B1, and Battalion 17 then responded from the Arch Dr fire to Dimond Ave upon the first alarm being transmitted. Car 2262 was assigned Dimond Ave Incident Commander and requested Peekskill FD Tower Ladder 45 to the scene, but due to high call volume in Peekskill, Croton Tower Ladder 44 which was enroute to the standby, was re-directed to the scene. At this time, the fire was deemed exterior/defensive due to the heavy amount of fire and Ladder 10 and Tower Ladder 44 were to set up their aerials for master streams operations. Mahopac Falls FD Rescue 19-6-1, which was returning to their district, was then requested to re-direct to Mohegan FD Headquarters for standby. Somers FD Tower Ladder 18 was also then dispatched to standby at Mohegan FD. At 10:31pm, all Mohegan units were in service from Arch Dr, while Dimond Ave operations were still ongoing. Once the heavy fire was knocked down on Dimond Ave, members went inside to extinguish pockets of fire. The Cause and Origin Team also responded to Dimond Ave once done on Arch Dr. Mohegan units cleared Dimond Ave at approx. 1:00am. Montrose FD Car Engine 121, Mahopac Falls FD Rescue 19-6-1, Somers Tower Ladder 18, along with Engine 252 also responded to 3 calls in Mohegan while on standby. Yorktown PD, Yorktown 34Medic1, and Con Edison Electric also assisted on Arch Dr. New York State Police and Con Edision Electic also assisted on Dimond Ave.
