On Thursday morning 4/24/25 at approximately 10:38am, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) was dispatched to a report of a tree down and wires with smoke coming from the residence on Baron De Hirsch Road in Crompond section of the Town of Cortlandt. Mohegan FD units arrived on scene and found smoke showing from the front door of the residence and immediately began investigating. An active fire was found in the basement of the residence and extending into the walls. A 10-75 (Working Structure Fire) was transmitted bringing in mutual aid resources to the scene. Mohegan FD was assisted on scene by Peekskill FD, Yorktown FD, Croton FD (FAS-Team), Mohegan EMS, Peekskill EMS (Rehab), and Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services (Battalion 17 and Cause and Origin Team). Continental Village FD and Ossining FD relocated and covered Mohegan FD Headquarters. Putnam Valley FD was cancelled enroute to the scene. All units cleared the scene at approximately 3pm.
