Heavy Fire at Peekskill 2nd Alarm

On Sunday 2/4/24, at approximately 10:18am, Mohegan FD was dispatched to the City of Peekskill with Ladder 10 for a working structure fire. On dispatch, Peekskill FD arrived on scene and reported heavy fire in the rear of the structure. Mohegan FD Car 2263, 226-47, 2267, 2269, 226-10, Ladder 10, and Utility 80 responded to this fire shortly after dispatch. Upon arrival, Mohegan FD was assigned to ventilate the roof. Once the roof was ventilated, Mohegan Firefighters then assisted with interior operations. Due to the heavy fire conditions, a 2nd alarm was transmitted bringing additional resources to the scene. After intensive operations, the fire was placed under control and Mohegan FD cleared the scene by 1:15pm. Other agencies assisting Peekskill FD on scene were Yorktown FD, Buchanan FD, Montrose VA FD, Croton FD, Montrose FD, Continental Village FD, Putnam Valley FD, and Peekskill EMS.
