On Friday morning 10/20/23, Mohegan FD helped at the Westchester County Police with their "First Responder Friday" event at the Furnace Woods Elementary School in Cortlandt. WCPD SROs and Patrol officers partnered with Mohegan Lake FD, Montrose FD, Cortlandt EMS, New York State Police troopers, and Town of Cortlandt Highway Dept to roll out the red carpet for students arriving at school. The assembled first responders and school staff cheered on the students as they arrived to school. This was a unique way to support the children in our community.
