On Monday morning 1/16/23 at approximately 10:30am, Continental Village FD was dispatched to Radio Terrace for a reported structure fire. Shortly after dispatch Mohegan FD Car 2261 advised responding Continental Village FD units that he had a visible large header of smoke, as this fire was just over the LMFD fire district line. Due to this updated information, Continental Village FD Car 2131 requested Car 2261 to continue to Radio Terrace and also requested Mohegan FD to respond with one engine to the scene. This was due to Continental Village FD still operating on scene of a prior motor vehicle accident. Mohegan FD Engine 256 responded almost immediately. Continental Village FD Car 2131 and Car 2261 arrived together to find a heavily involved storage building, with possible chemicals involved. Car 2131 advised units that he would conduct primary searches and Car 2261 would temporarily have command. CVFD Engine 232 arrived first due followed by CVFD Engine 231. Mohegan FD Engine 256 arrived 3rd due and secured a positive water source from a hydrant and supplied CVFD. Mohegan FD assisted on scene until approximately 1pm. Also assisting on scene were Peekskill FD, Montrose VA FD, Putnam Valley FD, Peekskill EMS, Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services Battalion 10, Car 2001, Hazmat 1, and Cause and Origin Team. Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services also assisted on scene.
