On Sunday night 1/15/23 just after 8:30pm, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team was requested to respond mutual aid to Montrose FD for a structure fire on Flanders Ln. Mohegan FD responded and upon arrival stoodby as the FAS-Team until eventually operations shifted to a defensive attack due to the residence becoming fully involved and eventually collapsed. A brush fire also started due to the embers. This prompted a tanker task force to the scene and also UTV equipment to battle the brush fire. Mohegan Firefighters assisted with extinguishment and overhaul. Mohegan Firefighters assisted on scene until shortly after 3am, when Mohegan FD cleared the scene. Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2263, 2265, 2266, 22610, Engine 256, Utility 18 (with hose roller), and Utility 80 responded to this fire. Other Fire Depts assisting on scene were Buchanan FD, Verplanck FD, Croton FD, Continental Village FD, Montrose VA FD, Millwood FD, Yorktown FD, Bedford Hills FD, Ossining FD, and Potantico Hills FD.
