This morning Saturday 1/7/23, Mohegan FD assisted with a flag detail at the Yorktown Funeral Home on East Main St in Shrub Oak. Mohegan FD Ladder 10 and Ladder 35 set up and drapped our large American flag for the funeral services procession of Yorktown PD Lieutenant Kenneth Sgroi. Lt Sgroi was posthumously promoted to Captain at the funeral service at St Patrick’s Church in Yorktown. Between leaving the funeral home and church service, Mohegan FD moved to set up a flag detail at Yorktown FD Station #1 on Commerce St. There, Ladder 10 strapped the American flag with YHFD Ladder 51. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Yorktown PD during this difficult time! Mohegan FD Utility 50 and Fire-Police also assisted with traffic control for road closures during the procession.
