Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We are proud to announce that the Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association will be hosting our 100th Anniversary Parade that will be in conjunction with the 116th Annual Westchester County Volunteer Firemen’s Convention. The events will be just like 10 years ago, so we want to let you know that there will be impacts to your neighborhood near the parade route.

When:
The parade is on Saturday September 17, 2022 starting at 3pm, however the Westchester County Police Department and New York State Police WILL BEGIN TO CLOSE the parade route starting at 2:30pm. The parade route will be reopened as soon as the parade concludes

Parade Route:
Parade lineup is at the Van Cortlandtville Elementary School located on Route 6. The parade will travel west on Route 6 to Westbrook Dr. The parade will then travel north on Westbrook Dr and ending at the firehouse on Oregon Rd

Traffic Impacts:
-Route 6 (East Main St) eastbound and westbound traffic will be diverted through the town’s right of way roadway in the Cortlandt Town Center from the traffic light near McDonald’s to Westbrook Dr during the parade. Route 6 will open immediately once the parade passes by.

-Westbrook Drive will be closed during the parade. All neighboring streets off of Westbrook Dr WILL NOT have any egress or access to Westbrook Dr starting at 2pm. Traffic for Fawn Ridge Dr, Jo Dr, Winthrop Dr, Birch Ln, and Amherst Rd (Wild Birch Farms) will have access through Wild Birch Farms to South Hill Rd to Red Mill Rd. Westbrook Dr will open once the parade concludes.

-Oregon Rd will be closed from Hollowbrook Mews/Skylark Dr to Old Oregon Rd during the parade. Detours should be Locust Avenue to Rt. 6 on the west side and Old Oregon Rd to Red Mill Rd to Lexington Ave on the east side. Oregon Rd between Westbrook Drive and Old Oregon Rd (Shell Station) will be CLOSED but open to local traffic only up to the firehouse by entering from the east side of Oregon Rd at the Shell Station. This closure will be from 2:30pm until trophies conclude when the Police Agencies deem the roadway safe to re-open. The trophy presentation will be held at 7pm, which will conclude the event.

Christopher Gravius, Chief
