Mohegan FD Deploys to Mamaroneck for 3rd Time

Last night Monday 9/6/21, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) deployed for the 3rd time in a week to assist the Village of Mamaroneck FD. Due to catastrophic damage from the remnants of Hurricane Ida and severe flooding, the Village of Mamaroneck was devastated, including the loss of a firehouse. Last night from 7pm to 7am this morning, Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2262, and Ladder 10 reported to Westchester County Department of Emergency Services Field Com 1 at Harbor Island Park and were briefed by Mamaroneck Village FD Car 2243. Once briefed, Mohegan FD relocated to the Village of Mamaroneck Fire Dept HQ and covered along with Tarrytown FD Engine 80. Also covering were Katonah FD Engine 115 and Sleepy Hollow FD Tower Ladder 38 at the Columbia Firehouse Engine & Hose #2. During this cover assignment, our firefighters responded to 3 incidents. 2 incidents were commercial fire alarm activations and 1 incident was an elevator rescue The elevator rescue was at a preplanned location that is a normal dual response with Town of Mamaroneck FD Ladder 19. During all 3 deployments in the past week, our members stoodby and assisted by responding to numerous incidents (Thursday, Friday night, and Monday night) in the Village of Mamaroneck. This morning, our crew was relieved by Yorktown Heights FD Car 2533 and Engine 274. Photos are by FF LaRocco.
