On Friday 9/3/21 through the morning of Saturday 9/4/21, Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2265, and Ladder 10 covered for the Village of Mamaroneck FD at the Columbia Firehouse Engine & Hose #2 Fire Station. Through the night, Mohegan FD responded to 2 fire calls. Mohegan FD was teamed up with Golden's Bridge FD Car 2143, Engine 140 and Continental Village FD Car 2132, Engine 231, while South Salem FD Engine 167, Tarrytown FD Engine 80 and Sleepy Hollow FD Tower Ladder 38 were together and covered Mamaroneck Village FD Headquarters. Mohegan FD started this deployment detail at 6pm at the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services (WCDES) and checked in with the New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services command staff and then proceeded to Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck for further orders from WCDES Field Com 1. Resources included Fire Dept assets from Westchester County, Rockland County, Putnam County, Orange County, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Dutchess County, Ulster County, and Greene County. Once the assignments were given, we covered this detail all night and returned to our fire district by 10am on Saturday 9/4/21. Last night, the Mamaroneck Village FD went out of service so that their members could finally rest after an historic few days of flooding and a very high call volume causing extreme fatigue to their members. We are always glad to be able to assist agencies in their time of need!
