Today Thursday 9/2/21, Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2265, 22610, and Ladder 10 deployed at 5:30am to the Village of Mamaroneck due to severe flooding, numerous water rescues, and high call volume of incidents. This request came under the Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services Mutual Aid Plan. Mohegan FD units first deployed to the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services in Valhalla then convoyed down to Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck. Here, our units were met with fire units from throughout Westchester County and Putnam County in staging and eventually being utilized to respond to various incidents. Mohegan FD responded to incidents including commercial fire alarms, water rescues/welfare checks, a reported structural fire, and natural gas emergencies. The Village of Mamaroneck FD has been running nonstop since last night and under mutual aid, numerous departments have responded and assisted, including New York State Fire assets out of Albany. This deployment continued until approximately 7:30pm when units returned to our district.
