Sprinkler Contains Fire

On Thursday 6/10/21 at 12:50am, Mohegan FD (volunteer and career) were dispatched to the Sentinol of Mohegan Lake on Lexington Ave for a commercial fire alarm activation in the kitchen area of the newly constructed wing. Upon arrival, firefighters found a small active fire in the kitchen area that was being held by an activated sprinkler. One dry chemical extinguisher was utilized to fully extinguish the fire. Firefighters spent the next 2 hours ventilated smoke from the building with numerous exhaust fans. Ladder 10 was special called to the scene with additional fans. Once the smoke was cleared, the residents were allowed to re-enter the building. All units cleared the scene by 4am. The Town of Cortlandt Code Enforcement and New York State Police assisted on scene.
