On Saturday evening 3/13/21 at approximately 5:50pm, Mohegan FD was dispatched to Paulding Ln in Crompond for a reported garbage can on fire. Upon arrival, an approximately 10 foot by 20 foot garbage can shed and small brush fire was found with the flames in close proximity to the overhead house electric service wires. One 1 3/4" hoseline was quickly stretched from Engine 254 and the fire was knocked down. Overhaul was performed and Con Edison Electric was requested to check the electric wires. Car 2262, 2266, 2267, 2269, Engine 254, Rescue 32 and Utility 80 operated on scene. During this Car 2261, Engine 252, and engine 256 handled a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Route 6 and Westbrook Dr. All units cleared the scene by 7pm.
