On Friday 7/10/20 at approximately 1:30pm, Mohegan FD (Volunteer and Career), Mohegan EMS, and Cortlandt Regional Paramedics were dispatched to the area of the parking garage at NY Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital on Crompond Rd (Rt 202/35) for a reported vehicle over the wall and dangling off the parking garage with the individuals trapped inside the vehicle. Upon arrival of units, a vehicle was found to have run off an approximately 4 foot wood retaining wall in the parking area between the hospital campus and Cortlandt Regional Paramedics station. Due to the vehicle still occupied and in a unsafe position, firefighters quickly secured the vehicle using chains and tied off the vehicle to the front of Engine 252 to prevent the vehicle from moving forward. The 2 occupants were assisted from the vehicle and refused medical treatment by EMS. Firefighters remained on scene until the vehicle was removed from the scene. Units on scene were Car 2262, 226-40, 2266, 2269, Engine 252, Engine 254, Rescue 32, and Utility 80. Also on scene were Cortlandt Regional Paramedic 35M1, Mohegan EMS, Town of Cortlandt Code Enforcement (FM-26), New York State Police, and Westchester County Police1. Due to the incident being dispatched as a reported rescue matrix, Ladder 35 was also on the original assignment, but was canceled enroute upon the arrival of the first units. All units cleared the scene by 3pm.
