Tonight (Memorial Day) Monday 5/25/20 at approximately 7:35pm, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team was requested to respond mutual aid to Putnam Valley FD (Putnam County) for a confirmed structure fire on Luigi Rd in Putnam Valley. The fire was held back from continuing to extend by the quick thinking actions of a first arriving Putnam Valley Firefighter using the homeowners garden hose. Mohegan FD Car 2262, 226-40, 2266, Engine 256, and Utility 80 responded with a full FAST crew of 12 firefighters. Once on scene, the fire was knocked down and Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team stoodby in case manpower was needed for overhaul operations. Mohegan FD cleared the scene by 9pm. Also assisting Putnam Valley FD were Continental Village FD, Mahopac Falls FD (diverted from scene response to covering PVFD Station 2), Garrison FD, Somers FD (covering PVFD Station 1), Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services, and Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
