Deputy Chief James Seymour and 1st Asst. Chief Brian Wolert continue to keep safety in the forefront by conducting the required OSHA training several times throughout the year. The OSHA annual 8+ hour class was conducted over two evenings and was well attended by Mohegan's volunteer firefighters. Firefighters, including FASTeam members, Fire Police, and Deputy Chiefs were well represented and were never bored as the two instructors kept the training relevant and up-to-date. Firefighter safety has always been, and continues to be, a priority of the Board of Fire Commissioners and the Fire Officers. Scene safety, PPE, 2-in-2-out, bail-out ropes, and all the other OSHA requirements were covered by the instructors. Always in the lead with the best and latest apparatus and firefighting equipment, Mohegan continues to be in the forefront of "looking out for it's own" as we make firefighter safety a priority to insure that "everyone goes home."
