On Fri. 1/29/10, the Lake Mohegan Fire District's Apparatus Committee traveled to the KME Fire Apparatus Headquarters in Nesquehoning, Pa for the pre-construction and blue print review meeting for our new Rescue-Style Engine. After 1 year of researching and developing a new Engine that fits the needs of this dept, the bid was won by KME in November, 2009. The committee on this cold Friday sat down with representatives from KME and went over all the plans and designs of the new Engine. After reviewing and finalizing the new Engine, members took a tour of Plant #6, which is the the final construction factory, and gained further insight and new ideas into the building of such an apparatus. The new Engine that will now be built will be delivered sometime in the Fall of 2010. Construction of our new rig will begin any day. Photos are courtesy of apparatus committee member Lt. Gravius. -2010 KME Predator 8 man cab -Hale 1500 gpmsingle stage pump/500 gal tank -2009 Cummins Diesal Engine -Rescue-style body with 24" deep compartments and 6 "coffin" compartments above -Light tower mounted on top of cab -Front bumper mounted preconnected Hurst Spreader and Hurst Cutter with single quick connect lines -Tow hitches on all sides of the rig for set up of the portable winch -Rear compartment preconnected Hurst Combi Tool plus air line with preconnected air chisel
