At approximately 9pm on Sunday 6/9/19, Mohegan FD’s FAS-Team was requested to respond mutual aid to the City of Peekskill for a confirmed commercial structure fire at the White Plains Linen warehouse on John Walsh Blvd. Mohegan FD Car 2262, 22610, 22640, and Engine 257 responded with a total FAST crew of 7 members and took up a FAST position in front of this warehouse building. Peekskill FD, with assistance from Montrose FD Buchanan FD, and Montrose VA FD found active fire in numerous laundry bins, with heavy smoke throughout this large warehouse. The fire was held from extending further by the sprinkler system, but numerous hoselines were stretched to fully extinguish the fire. Numerous exhaust fans were also utilized to ventilate the large amount of smoke. Mohegan FD stood by on scene until approximately 11pm, when released by Peekskill FD. Also assisting were Peekskill Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and resources from the Westchester County Dept of Emergency Services. The Continental Village FD and Verplanck FD relocated and covered Peekskill FD. Photos by FF LaRocco.
