Significant Damage to Building From Vehicle

At 12:30pm on Thursday 1/25/19, Mohegan FD, Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Yorktown/Empress Emergency Medical Services Paramedics, and Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to the United Methodist Church on East Main St in Shrub Oak for a motor vehicle accident with injuries with a vehicle into the structure. Upon arrival, units found a motor vehicle that struck the building and continued through the building exiting through the rear wall. Luckily the driver only suffered minor injuries and no other individuals were struck or injured. The vehicle also sideswiped the 250 gallon fuel oil tank, but no leak occurred. The scene was turned over to the Yorktown Building Dept and all units cleared the scene by 1:40pm. Units on scene were Deputy Chief 226-38, Engine 252, Engine 256, Ladder 35, Rescue 32, Mohegan EMS 69B1, 34 Medics, and Yorktown PD.
