On Monday morning 11/26/18, Mohegan FD was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Pump House Rd in Cortlandt at approximately 7:05am. Upon arrival of units, smoke was showing from the residence and the 10-75 was transmitted bringing in mutual aid on the first alarm assignment including Croton FD, Putnam Valley FD, Mohegan EMS, and Peekskill EMS’s Rehab Unit. Mohegan Firefighters quickly stretched one 1 3/4" hose line from Engine 256 to the residence and found the fire contained to the living room. Members quickly knocked down the fire and began ventilation, while other members conducted searches to ensure nobody was inside. The fire was knocked down prior to the arrival of our mutual aid units from Croton FD (FAS-Team) and Putnam Valley FD. One homeowner was found outside on arrival and was treated by Mohegan EMS and Cortlandt Regional Paramedics with minor injuries. Also assisting on scene were Westchester County Dept. of Emergency Services' Battalion 17 and Cause and Origin Team Zone 4. All Mohegan Fire units cleared the scene by 11am. The Yorktown FD relocated and covered any additional calls for Mohegan FD. Photos are courtesy of FF G. Stretz, unless otherwise noted.
