Tonight Sunday 11/11/18, Mohegan FD, Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Yorktown Police Department escorted home Lakeland Central School District’s Lakeland High School Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team. This team competed for the NYS Championship today in the Buffalo, NY area but unfortunately lost to Garden City. This team has had a remarkable run by winning the state championship the last 9 years consecutively. We escorted the team home from the Annsville Circle in Cortlandt all the way to the high school. To make it more memorable, MVFA President Andrew Cerrato’s neice is a player on this team! Mohegan Units assisting with the escort were Car 2261, 2262, 2263, Engine 256, Utility 69, Utility 80, and MVAC 6905 and 69B2. Engine 252, Ladder 35, and Rescue 32 stood by at LHS to greet the escort with many of the players families, students, friends, and school staff.
