Afternoon Rollover with Door Pop

At approximately 4:30pm this afternoon (Fri 3/23/18), Mohegan Fire, Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Yorktown Police Department, and Yorktown/Empress Emergency Medical Services Paramedics were dispatched to Old Yorktown Rd (Rt 132) in the area of Lakeland Copper Beach Middle School for a reported motor vehicle accident rollover with injuries and possible entrapment. Upon arrival, a one vehicle rollover accident was found off Suncrest Ave, just in from Rt 132. One patient was confirmed injured and entrapped. Under the command of Car 2263, members utilized the Hurst Spreaders and Cutters from Engine 255 to remove the driver side door of the vehicle, which was on its roof and in a grass/woods area off of a Suncrest Ave residential driveway. Car 2263 also requested the manpower aboard Engine 252 to bring cribbing into the scene once Engine 252 arrived on scene. The patient was quickly extricated and placed in the care of EMS. The patient was transported by Mohegan EMS 69B1 with Yorktown/Empress Paramedic 34Medic1 to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment. Mohegan FD remained on scene and stoodby until the vehicle was uprighted and removed from the scene. All Mohegan FD units cleared by 5:30pm.
