On Monday 1/15/18 at approximately 4:45pm, Mohegan FD and EMS were dispatched to Rt 6 (East Main St) and Baker St in Mohegan Lake for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a rollover. While units were enroute, the call was upgraded to reported extrication. Upon arrival, a 2 car accident was found with one vehicle resting on its passenger side. The driver of the rolled over vehicle was still inside and required assistance in exiting the vehicle. Members immediately began stabilizing the vehicle by using cribbing to stabilize the car. Once the vehicle was stabilized with cribbing, members began to cut the windshield to gain access to the driver to assess for injuries. Other members were in the process of setting up our Res-q-Jack stabilization equipment. Once the windshield was cut, the driver was removed with the assistance of members with minor injuries. Mohegan EMS 69B3 transported the driver to Hudson Valley Hospital, while members stoodby and assisted until the vehicles were removed from the roadway. During the incident, Rt. 6 was closed between Lexington Avenue and the Cortlandt Town Center. Units operating on scene were Car 2261, 2263, 2264, 2265, 2267, 22610, Engine 252, Engine 256, Rescue 32, and Utility 80. All units cleared the scene by 5:45pm.
