At approximately 2:30pm this afternoon 12/22/17, Mohegan FD was dispatched to the area of the Skyview Cottages on Rt 6 near Regina Ave in the Mohegan Lake section of Cortlandt for a reported dumpster fire. Upon arrival, units found an active dumpster fire in the driveway to Skyview Cottages and members quickly stretched a 1 3/4” hoseline from Engine 257. Members quickly knocked down the fire and then performed overhaul by empting the dumpster to ensure the fire was fully extinguished. Units operating were Car 2261, 2263, 22610, Engine 257, Rescue 32, Utility 80, and New York State Police. All units cleared the scene by 3:10pm.
