On Sat. 9/30/17, Mohegan FD participated in a Safety Day at the Old Navy store in the Cortlandt Town Center mall in Mohegan Lake from 11am-3pm. Mohegan FD Utility 69 and our fire prevention trailer were on hand and members taught children the proper techniques to escape a fire by using a 2nd exit (this year's NFPA fire prevention theme) and getting familiar with crawling through smoke (theatrical smoke machine). Members also taught other fire prevention/safety tips throughout the day. Also attending this Safety Day was the New York State Police from the Cortlandt Barracks.
