Multiple Injuries at Rt. 6 Accident

At 9:17pm this evening Tues 10/3/17, Mohegan Fire, MVFA VAC, and Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to Rt. 6 and Curry St in Yorktown for a motor vehicle accident with extrication. Upon arrival, members found a 2 car accident with a total of 4 injuries, but no extrication needed. Due to the amount of injuries, Mahopac Falls Vol. Fire Department ambulance and Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps were requested mutual aid to the scene. Cortlandt Regional Paramedics also responded mutual aid as an advanced life support fly car, in case needed. Mahopac Falls FD ambulance 19-7-1 transported 2 patients and Yorktown VAC transported 1 patient all to the Westchester Medical Center. The 4th patient refused medical attention on scene and 69B3 responded to additional EMS call in our district. During the incident, Rt 6 was closed to all traffic between Curry St and Hill Blvd. Members also mitigated fluids in the roadway and assisted with the road closure. Units operating on scene were Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2262, 2263, 2266, 22610, Engine 252, Engine 253, and Engine 254; Mohegan VAC 69B3; Yorktown VAC 86B1; Mahopac Falls FD 19-7-1; Cortlandt Regional Paramedics 35Medic1; Yorktown PD. All units cleared the scene by 10:15pm.
