On Tues night 8/15/17, Mohegann FD was invited by Continental Village FD to perform a ladder drill at their Headquarters. Mohegan FD Car 2262, 2263, 2265, 2266, and Ladder 35 participated and our members worked with Continental Village FD and allowed their members to train with and learn the operations of our aerial. First, CVFD was given an overview of Ladder 35 and also went over the differences between Ladder 35 and Ladder 10, our other aerial ladder. Once familiarization of Ladder 35 to their members was complete, we raised Ladder 35 to their firehouse roof and allowed their members to climb the ladder and were shown the proper techniques to exit the ladder onto a roof. After their members had time to familiarize themselves with that, we raised Ladder 35 the full 105 feet at an angle of 60 degrees. We gave the CVFD members an opportunity to actual climb the ladder to get them familiar with the height. After a great evening of training, all the members of both depts. had a pizza dinner, which CVFD generously made available to everybody. We thank CVFD the time and opportunity to train with us and allowing us to utilize Ladder 35 to further train their members .
