Tonight Tues 7/18/17, Mohegan FD trained with the Putnam Valley Fire Dept (Putnam County) at the Putnam Valley Elementary School on Oscawana Lake Rd. Tonight's drill was on ladder operations with our probationary firefighters. The drill was set up as a two-fold drill. First, as a ground ladder and aerial ladder training night for our "probies", but secondly, Ladder 35 is on automatic dual response mutual aid with Putnam Valley FD to all calls at all of the schools of the Putnam Valley School District. This drill offered us the familiarization of aerial ladder access to this school, but it also allowed Putnam Valley Firefighters to train with our ladder truck and get familiar with its operation and equipment. Additionally, Putnam Valley Firefighters were training tonight on hoselines, portable ponds, and tanker operations. Once the drill concluded, both depts went back to Putnam Valley FD Station #1 for dinner together. We thank Putnam Valley FD for their continuous teamwork and for their hospitality tonight. Mohegan FD Car 2261, 2262, 2263, 2266, and Ladder 35 participated in tonight's drill.
