At 8:37pm on Sunday nevening 4/2/17, Yorktown Heights Volunteer FD, along with our FAS-Team were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Wilson Rd in the YHFD district in Yorktown. While our FAS-Team was assembling, Yorktown FD arrived and confirmed the fire and transmitted their 10-75 (working structure fire) assignment. Due to this being in the non-hydrant section of their district, this brought Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, Millwood Fire, Somers Volunteer Fire Department, and Continental Village Vol. Fire Department all to the scene with additional tankers, while an additional croton FD engine was dispatched to establish a water source. Ossining Fire Department, Bedford Hills Fire Department, and Mount Kisco FD all relocated and covered Yorktown FD. Mohegan FD's FAS-Team arrived and set up 2 teams (one in front, one in rear) until the fire was brought under control. Once the fire was knocked down, Mohegan FD went to work to assist in overhaul operations to extinguish additional hidden pockets of fire. Mohegan FD members did find the homeowner's cat during overhaul and brought the cat to safety. All Mohegan FD units cleared the scene by 9:15pm. Mohegan FD units operating were Car 2262, 2264, 2265, 2266, DC40, Engine 256, and Utility 80 with a total of 12 members. Yorktown Police Department and Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps also assisted on scene.
